Full Tilt Poker announced today that it would bring back the Black Card promotion. Black Card will become the top tier in its Edge VIP program.
Players can obtain this level by averaging 500 Full Tilt Points (FTPs) over the past 100 days. A player that rakes $1,400 or more on average will qualify. Black Card players will be able to convert 200 FTPs into $1 in cash. This may be done automatically each week or saved and converted manually by the player.
Players will earn up to double FTPs while opted into the Edge Leaderboard and there is a separate leaderboard to become a Black Card Pro. The winner of the Black Card Pro Leaderboard will receive 100% rakeback and a $20,000 prize package. The first Black Card Pro will be named in January.
Many players have complained that Black Card is not as rewarding as the Supernova levels of the VIP program at PokerStars. Full Tilt players are able to transfer cash easily to PokerStars, which has a better VIP program for many players and nearly ten times the traffic.
Some of these players were hopeful that Full Tilt would reward lower volume players in its VIP program changes and also make the program competitive to high volume players.
Full Tilt Poker announced these changes after it took back the number two spot in terms of cash game traffic from iPoker. Pokerscout now shows that Full Tilt overtook iPoker last week during its Rush Week promotion where players were rewarded for playing Rush Poker. This helped cash game traffic grow substantially but the traffic has since dropped back to its normal levels.
