Full Tilt Online Poker FTOPS Event 2 Omaha Hi Pot Limit tournament is now complete. This event was hosted by Ben Roberts and has a guarantee from Full Tilt Poker of $100,000. As like event one though, the guarantee was not needed as 1,183 poker players brought the total prize pool to $236,600.
135 Omaha players would money in this tournament and again the Full Tilt poker stars were out including Stuart Patterson, Rino Mathis, Niki Jedlicka, Karina Jett, Jens Voertmann, Sascha Biorac, Richarsd “Quiet Lion†Brodie, Huckleberry Seed, Chris Wolters, Chip Jett, Barny Boatman, Jon “PearlJammed†Turner, and Ben Roberts who finished just outside the money.
Unlike event one though there were a couple names that did slip into the money including Andy Bloch (122), Aaron Bartley (48), Steve Zolotow (25), Scoot Fischman (12) and Sigi Stockinger making the final table and finishing 5th.
With the blinds at 8K/16K and with only 103,104 chips left, Plz_Stop_Lookin raises to 56,000. All fold around and Fbonacci call from the small blind, the big blind folds. They see a flop of 7h Tc 6s and Plz_Stop_Lookin goes all-in with Ks As 7s Ac and is called by Fbonacci with 9s Qd 8s 7d. the turn bringd the 6d and the river brings a devastating Js giving Fbonacci a straight and leaving Plz_Stop_Lookin just short of the final table.
The final table consisted of Fbonacci, APINCHNETTER, mi2Gob4islEp, SKILLET79, Sigi Stockinger, euro930, urbestm8, KudleyKQ and handsy05.
It took only one hand to see the first elimination. SKILLET79 raises to 56,000 in early position and euro930 re-raising from middle position to 192,000. As if folds back around, SKILLET79 goes all-in with 2h As Ah 7s and euro930 calls with 9h Ks Kh Ac. The board of 8c 7c Td 6s 2s did not help euro930 as he is first gone from the final table.
About 5 minutes later, APINCHBETTER, shortstacked with 123,958 raises to 70,000 with Kc 2s Ah Qd in late position. It is SKILLET79 again re-raising from the button with Jd Ac Ad 8d, APINCHBETTER calls and is all-in. The board brings 8h 5s 6s Ks 7c and aces holds again for SKILLET79 and eliminates APINCHBETTER in 8th.
Plays settles down for about 15 minutes when SKILLET79 does it again. Mi2Gob4islEp raising first in to 79,000, this time SKILLET79 just calls and everyone else folds. The flop is Ad Qd Kd and both players check. The turn is the 2s and mi2Gob4islEp, acting first bets 69,000 and again SKILLET79 calls. The river brought the As and mi2Gob4islEp bets 179,999, SKILLET79 re-raising all-in and mi2Gob4islEp instantly calls. SKILLET79 shows Kc Ac 6c 6h and mi2Gob4islEp shows 2d 3c Ah Qs for the second best two pair and 7th place. This makes SKILLET79 the chip leader and first over 1 million in chips.
Handsy05 was next and in a blind battle goes all-in pre flop with Qh Ac 5c Qd from the big blind and is called by KudelyKQ in the small blind with 9d 2s 2c 9h. The pocket pair of queens for handsy05 held up till a rivered two gave KudelyKQ the win and eliminated handsy05 in 6th. It was now Sigi Stockinger on the short-stack and the pro that cashed in the 07 WSOP Omaha hi/lo Event 42 raised to 90K pre-flop and was called from the big blind by Fbonacci . The flop came 9h Jc 8c and Stockinger put the rest of his 95, 010 chips in the middle with Ad 5c Kd Th and was called by Fbonacci with 4d Js Qh Td. The flopped straight was enough and Sigi Stockinger was eliminated in 5th.
That would be the last hurray for Fbonacci as about 5 minutes later and the short-stack; Fbonacci raised UTG to 105,000 leaving just 53,526 left. KudelyKQ who had just took over the chip lead by about 200,000 over SKILLET79 called from the big blind. The flop came Kd Ts 5S and KudelyKQ bet enough to put Fbonacci all-in and was called. KudelyKQ held 9d Qd 6d Kc and Fbonacci had Kh Td Jh Ad. Unfortunately running sixes doomed Fbonacci and he was sent home in 4th.
Urbestm8 entered the final three with 673,000 in chips and SKILLET79 had 1,236,000 and KudelyKQ with 1,594,000 but never underestimate the little guy as just seven hands after the Fbonacci was eliminated, and the blind 20K/40K, SKILLET79 raised on the button to 80,000. KudelyKQ called from the big blind. The flop was 9S 5d 7d, KudelyKQ led out with 180,000 and SKILLET79 re-raised to 720,000. KudelyKQ goes all-in and SKILLET 79 calls. KudelyKQ with JcTc6d8h and SKILLET79 Qs 5c 5s Qc. The flopped straight was enough to send SKILLET79 home in third and see urbestm8 hang on enough to move up to 2nd.
The heads up battle started with urbestm8 in a huge hole with 383,112 chips the KudelyKQ 3,165,888. Remember though, “A chip and a chairâ€Â. It took 10 minutes and urbestm8 had pulled within a million chips of KudelyKQ. In almost another ten minutes, urbestm8 had taken the chip lead. Then 5 minutes later, urbestm8 raised the small blind and KudelyKQ called. The flop was Th 3D 4h and both players checked. The turn brought the 7s and urbestm8 checked and KudelyKQ bet 300,000. Urbestm8 check raised to 750,000, KudelyKQ re-raises all-in and is called. KudelyKQ shows 7d Qd Ts Td for a set and urbestm8 shows Ac 5c 6s Qs for a turned straight. No help on the river and urbestm8 completes a remarkable comeback and is the FTOPS Event 2 Champion.
