The following statement was received this morning in response to the allegations of collusion and team poker play against isildur1.
We have conducted an exhaustive review of the situation and have taken action based on this investigation.
Having reviewed the matter, Brian Hastings and Cole South were not found to have breached our site rules in any way. It is fully acceptable for players to discuss strategy, and in this instance these players did discuss hands, an opponent and a strategy to play against this opponent. However, when the games are played there was only one player making decisions regarding the hand.
Based on our findings, the sole breach of our site rules was by Brian Townsend who was found in violation of our rules regarding datamining. While he did violate our rules, he is receiving a punishment that is harsher than our standard response in these situations. In cases of players found to have violated our policy regarding datamining our standard response is to issue an initial warning regarding the violation before taking further action. In this instance Brian Townsend will additionally be stripped of his status as a Full Tilt Red Pro for a period of one month as we hold our Pros to the highest standard when enforcing our rules.
We now consider this matter closed and all parties involved in the situation have been made aware of our decision.
This is the second time we’ve seen Townsend land in hot water as a pro poker player, the player was also suspended once for Multi-Accounting.
Full Tilt Poker has already handed down punishment to Brian for his iniquitous actions. Townsend has been suspended from Red Pro status at Full Tilt Poker for the next 6 months. PokerStars, on the other hand, has yet to comment on the matter. -Multi-Accounting Article
Let’s be fair though, he did apologize.
