After many ups and downs, former USA Full Tilt Poker players may finally see a light at the end of a very long tunnel. The Garden City Group has finally announced a date for the Full Tilt Poker remissions process. The group, who was named the official claims administrator for FTP’s payments to USA players, is finally moving forward with the refunding process with their latest announcement.
The Garden City Group announced on their website late last week that anyone who could be eligible for Black Friday funds will receive contact starting next month. The official statement read:
“Starting on September 16, 2013, GCG will email a Notice with instructions on how to submit a Petition for Remission online to all potentially eligible claimants identified by GCG utilizing data supplied by Full Tilt Poker (“FTP”). The deadline to submit a Petition for Remission is November 15, 2013. Instructions concerning the filing of Petitions will be included in the Notice and will be posted on this website. Please continue to check this website for updates. Please note that the registration process for email notification is no longer available.”
The notice continued that players who do not receive such an email but need to file a claim can still do so by visiting the website. Essentially, players will have until mid-November to get input their information for their claim. This makes me believe that the repayment process will still be at least next year because each claim will have to be reviewed and this will most likely take months.
Hopefully that is not the case, but as with anything involving the government, lengthy time periods are involved, so players may be waiting months more before actual cash is back in their bank accounts. Players have been waiting since April of 2011 to receive their funds and $150 million is still due to players in the US from Full Tilt Poker.
