PokerStars Sunday Million Results:ÂÂ
It was PlayerPimp25 who had the dubious honor of bubbling in this poker tournament going out in 1081st leaving everyone else to earn a little for their evenings effort. Around the 8 hour mark, it was pawelmaj‘s exit from the tournament that set up the final table which consisted of:
Gnuhunter, diegoscotti1, abel127, mkind0516, pocktnizzles, nieezz, mister cc, hanes1971 and giorango.
Pocktnizzles was the first to exit the final table when, short-stacked with 2,285,843, he raised over the top of a Gnuhunter raise with 2d2h. It was folded back around to Gnuhunter who called with AsTc. A flopped ten and no help for pocktnizzles on any other street sent him home in 9th place.
With the antes at 30,000 and blinds of 150,000/300,000 abel127 limped in early position with JJ and was raised by mkind0516 with AdKs just to his left to 2,900,000. Mkind0516 was just the short-stack and had brought himself back to the field with some aggressive all-ins over the last 10+ hands. It is folded back around to abel127, who has mkind0516 covered, and he pushes all-in. Without much thought he is called.
The flop of 8d Th Js was kind to abel127 but left mkind0516 some outs. The flopped set was quickly erased as the turn brought the Qh and the straight for mkind0516. Only a paired board would save abel127 from being on the verge of elimination and the river Kd was no help. Left with only 264,300 chips abel127 doubled up once then fell in 8th when his Ad5d flopped a flush draw but lost to hanes1971 AsQh when he flopped a queen and the flush never came.
It was now Gnuhunter short-stacked and deciding to push all-in with 5h5c from the button, he was called by diegoscotti1 in the SB with Ad9d and even though the board produced 3 three’s for a full house for Gnuhunter, a flopped ace sent him to the rail in 7th.
It was at this time the first call for a deal was made by mister cc and before a discussion could take place, mkind0516 said play on. The final table went to the next break with 6 players left and it was still anyone’s tournament:
- Hanes1971 – 15,314,996
- Nieezz – 12,735,768
- Giorango – 12,111,687
- Mister cc – 11,982,962
- Mkind0516 – 10,747,940
- Diegoscotti1 – 8,146,647
- Gnuhunter
- abel127
- pocktnizzles
On the 5th hand after the break, it was diegoscotti1 making a move going all-in from first position with AcQd and was called by giorango in the BB with AhJc. Though in a good position, a flopped jack crippled diegoscotti1 leaving him all-in in the big blind the next hand and mister cc sending him out in 6th.
It was here that more rumblings of a deal was brought up and before anyone could respond, hanes1971 raises the button with AdAs and unfortunately mkind0516 was in the BB with AhKs and went all in over the top. No straight this time for mkind0516 and he was sent home in 5th place.
With four left they all asked for the game to be paused. The chip count now was:
Hanes1971 – 21,747,936
Mister cc – 21,157,922
Giorango – 18,343,374
Nieezz – 9,790,768
The asked for a deal by chip counts and AlexS, the PokerStars host for this final table came back with the following numbers and leaving 30K left to be added to the overall winner:
nieezz $80503.10
giorango $101180.82
mister cc $107985.57
hanes1971 $109412.04
The deal was negated though as mister cc wanted to receive the most money, though not leading in chips. Play resumed shortly after. At first this seemed like a grave mistake by mister cc as he quickly dropped to below 8,000,000 in chips but a pair of sixes and a turned straight against hanes1971 brought him back. And in the very next hand hanes1971 got all his chips in the middle with AcJc and was called by giorango and Ah5c. The flop of 6h Qh Js was kind to hanes1971, the turn was a Kh and though ahead did breathe a little life into giorango and that was all he needed as a river 5h gave him the nut flush and sent hanes1971 home in 4th place.
Ironically, the players agreed again to look at the numbers and on the last hand before the pause to see numbers, nieezz goes all-in on the button with Ah5c and was called by mister cc with 8s8h. This time there was no miracle and the pocket pair held to eliminate nieezz in 3rd.
The players agreed to look at numbers and this time the chips were:
Mister cc – 41,968,690
Giorango – 29,071,310
The numbers came back and again mister cc held out for more money and even proclaimed he loved HU play and will continue on if he didn’t get the money he wanted.
Giorango finally relented and the final deal was $30,000 held out to first place:
mister cc = $148,000.00
giorango = $123,209.60
This was probably the best move mister cc made the whole tournament because on the 20th hand of heads up play he was eliminated.
Final results including Deal:
- Giorango – 153,209.60
- Mister cc – 123,209.60
- Nieezz – $71,040.00
- Hanes1971 – $56,832.00
- Mkind0516 – $42,624.00
- Diegoscotti1 – $31,257.60
- Gnuhunter – $ $22,022.40
- Abel127 – $12,787.20
- Pocktnizzles – $8,382.72
