According to the PokerStars Blog, Triple Crown winner Jake Cody is the latest member to join Team PokerStars Pro. The announcement of Cody joining the team was made by Daniel Negreanu, a Team Pro, right before the 10th Anniversary PCA Main Event began Day 1B.
1B began just yesterday at the Atlantic Hotel and Resort in the Bahamas, who is playing host the the PCA events. Negreanu stated: “PokerStars always looks for young up-and-coming ambassadors for the game and I feel like we’ve found a gem. The youngest ever winner of the Triple Crown. He’s won a WPT, a World Series of Poker bracelet and more importantly an EPT. He combines poker skill with a gentlemanly demeanor as is expected in a PokerStars Team Pro. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Jake Cody to the team.”
Negreanu placed a Team PokerStars Pro patch on the arm of Cody as players gathered to begin Day 1B and stated after: “And it’s official. Good luck, my man.” Cody is the youngest ever Triple Crown winner and it was amazing that the pro was able to earn all three titles in less than a year and a half. Cody earned his wins back in 2010 and 2011, as listed below:
Jan 2010: €5,000 EPT Deauville, €857,000 ($1,213,194)
Aug 2010: £5,000 WPT London, £273,783 ($425,492)
May 2011: $ 25,000 WSOP Heads-Up Championship, $851,192
The PokerStars Blog spoke with Cody a short time ago, about how he feels currently, and the pro stated: “It probably sounds quite silly but it is literally a dream come true. I know it’s something that everyone says but it genuinely is. It’s something I’ve been working at for a while now. For it to actually happen… it’s awesome.” Cody will now continue his efforts in the PCA and enjoying the new spot at PokerStars.com.
