The fiery young poker star Jean-Robert Bellande, with 6 WSOP cashes since 2005, recently stood his ground on NBC’s Poker After Dark Hecklers week and still had time to out-smart, out-play and out-wit some of his fellow contestants on Survivor: China is now with Team Bodog.
A Bodog Poker press release today announced that Jean-Robert will join fellow Team Bodog members David Williams, Josh Arieh and Evelyn Ng and now could be found representing Bodog at major televised events as well as at the tables of their online poker room.
“We’re extremely excited to have Jean-Robert join our select team of world-class poker players. With his charismatic personality and his prowess as a poker player, Jean-Robert embodies the Bodog lifestyle. He is a perfect fit for Team Bodog,” Bodog North American CEO Alwyn Morris was quoted as saying in the press release.
His aggressive play and taunting style earned him the nickname “Action Bob” and has helped him accumulate over $800,000 in tournament winnings in his young poker career. His latest cash was at the $300 No Limit Holdem tournament at this years WPT LA Poker Classic.
Jean-Robert was quoted as saying,
“I’m completely thrilled to be on Team Bodog and to join my friends Josh, David and Evy. I’m planning to make a lot of noise in 2008 for myself and Bodog, starting with the National Heads-Up Poker Championship this weekend and at the WSOP this summer.”
Bellande’s NBC Heads Up Poker Championship didn’t go as planned though as he lost a big chip lead to the veteran Sam Grizzle and was unfortunately out in the first round. Hopefully the 2008 World Series of Poker will be better for him and Team Bodog.
