Twenty-three year old Jordan Morgan of Oklahoma finally achieved what he had been longing for, a first-place finish in a major live event. Jordan has been playing online poker professionally for two years but has achieved more than some veterans of the game. However Morgan had yet to finish first in any major live poker event until Thursday. Jordan beat out Terry Hawkins in a heads-up match for the championship in the WSOP Tunica Mississippi circuit. Once Jordan took the chip lead he kept focusing and used his aggressive style to help him win one of his largest paydays to date.
Jordan took home $213,288 in prize money,$1,000 in expense money, a sharp-looking gold Circuit ring, and a $10,000 buy-in to the 2008 WSOP main event.
