Another recognizable face can be seen the bracelet after the final card has been drawn in the Event#49: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. The champion of this 2018 World Series of Poker event was Loren Klein, who managed to defeat Rep Porter, a poker player that won WSOP bracelets three times. With this victory, Klein managed to even the number of bracelets as his last opponent, now having a total of three bracelets. Furthermore, the amount of money that he won as the winner of the tournament is $1,018,336.

Klein started dominating WSOP two years ago when he managed to land his first bracelet in the Event #45: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha. However, he did not stop there and only a year later, in 2017, he went on to win another bracelet in Event #41: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha. But the first places are not the only ones that count and Klein also had some great runner-ups and third places. For example, the championship event that he won now was also very successful for him two years ago when he lost to Brandon Shack-Harris.
Speaking of Shack-Harris, he also managed to get to the last day and to the final table with Klein. In fact, the last day saw Shack-Harris entering with the biggest pot of chips. However, the had to settle for the third place this time, having won a nice sum of $433,259.
After being asked whether he is proud of winning three bracelets three years in a row, Klein responded that he was not particularly proud as the variance for bracelet winning had been pretty high. In fact, he stated that he was the same player that he had been three years ago before he had won any of the bracelets. On the other hand, Klein added that his path towards winning the bracelet showed him a really good time.
What is interesting about this player is that all of the bracelets that he won included Pot-Limit Omaha, which paved the way for him to become one of the greatest in this type of game. However, he is up against some serious competition when it comes to PLO and it cannot be stated with certainty whether he is currently the best in the world when this game is included. Klein stated that this was a possibility but that one might never know as the tournaments often go in unexpected ways and a lot of other guys have great runs in every tournament. However, Klein added that he believed he was right there at the top with others.
The event had a total of 476 entrants and there was a prize pool of as high as $4,474,400. The first 72 players were paid from the prize pool. What is interesting is that five players out of six in the final table were former winners of bracelets.
