The name of this event is actually RUB 6,000,000 Triton Poker Super High Roller and it saw 14 entries on Day 1 and that doubled during the second day. Therefore, the total number of entries was 29 and all of them are experienced poker players who came to the tournament to win the first place.
But the best of them all was the player from Malaysia who actually won a second Triton Poker tournament in a span of two weeks only. His heads-up opponent was Abraham Passet.
Leow actually already participated in one event before this. The previous day, he took part at RUB 3,000,000 High Roller and was doing pretty great as a chip leader. However, he became a bubble boy in less than one hour and eventually hit the rail.
The similar destiny seemed possible for this event as well, as Leow also managed to lose almost all of his chips during the second day. Luckily, he managed to avoid the same scenario and did his best – which made him an ultimate winner. His style was aggressive – he was present in all hands and he managed to bust early. But the return was great and he showed everyone his superpowers.
Ivan Leow is actually a professional poker player who has managed so far to get five six-figure scores in poker only in 2018. One victory stands out though – Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju HKD$500,000 Short Deck Ante-Only. In this event, Leow managed to emerge a winner and win a sum which is just over $1 million.
One day before this victory Philipp Gruissem was interviewing Richard Yong about the poker and asked him what the best poker players in Malaysia were. Yong instantly responded that those were Wai Leong Chan, Michael Soyza, and Leow. Just a day later, Leow indeed confirmed that not only was he a part of these big three but also that he has a potential to become the best Malaysian player.
Finally, it is time to reveal the sum that Leow won in this tournament – the amazing $1,134,000 is sent straight to his bank account, and this is definitely the biggest win in his career. The second place, which is taken by Passet, is worth $740,880 and this is the sum that the player from Germany had to settle for. However, this is a great thing for him as the score is the biggest of his life.
