The Lotteries and Gaming Authority in Malta suspended Everleaf Gaming’s license on Friday. A notice was posted on the gaming commission’s website on July 26, 2013. Most players feel that the suspension of Everleaf Gaming’s license was long overdue.
The network left the U.S. market in February 2012 citing pressure from the U.S. Government. American players were then given three options to withdraw, none of which were easily available to U.S. players.
The network continued accepting players from the rest of the world. Payments became slower and slower with each month. Eventually no players were receiving their cashouts.
Many of the skins and some of the network management team left Everleaf Gaming for the Plutos Network. According to Pokerscout, Plutos peaks at about 130 players each day. Pokerscout also reports that Everleaf Gaming peaked at around 10-20 players daily in the past 10 days.
The suspension of Everleaf’s gaming license is mostly irrelevant to players. Its regulator had not facilitated payments after numerous player complaints. That seems unlikely to change as the lack of licensing will seemingly rid the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of its responsibility.
