On April 25th, the Poker Players Alliance sent out a letter to Lock Poker in an effort to try and communicate with the online poker room and get a better understanding as to why the polices and current situation has yet to be discussed by Lock publicly. Players have complained of issues for months with cashouts taking longer than standard periods of time, some even waiting more than a year with no payment in sight.
John Pappas, the Executive Director of the PPA, Vice President of Player Relations, Rich Muny and Patrick Skallagrim, the Litigation Support Director, all worked together to create the letter and signed it before sending it out. The letter began discussing how the PPA has been informed of the withdrawal issues at Lock Poker and how significant delays are affecting the players.
The letter discusses how the website of Lock does not mention the long withdrawl times and the site coninutes to take player deposits. The PPA asks Lock in the letter about the ‘uneven nature’ of player withdrawal requests when it comes to processing and also the ‘many reports’ that have surfaced of players receiving littte to no information on why the payment process is taking such an extended period of time.
In the letter, the PPA Board of Directors state that they considered sending a direct warning to all the PPA members about the situation at Lock. However, they instead decided to try and give Lock Poker an opportunity to discuss the current situation before taking this action. The PPA has included four questions in the letter in which they want answers to for Lock Poker players.
- Does Lock Poker keep players’ funds segregated from operating funds? If so, what mechanism is used to accomplish this separation?
- Does lock poker have, or will it be implementing, a system to organize its payment processing so that those who have been waiting the longest will be given priority in future payments?
- Does Lock Poker have a timeline of its plan to pay its players in full?
- Will Lock Poker immediately provide open, accurate, up-to-date information regarding time required to process customer withdrawal requests?
The PPA then closed the letter by stating that the group appreciates that there may have been difficulties legally when it comes to processing payments but the PPA cannot ignore the situation in which players could be in jeopardy. It will be interesting to see if Lock Poker decides to respond in any manner to this letter by the PPA or if they will ignore the request, with players still in the dark to withdrawal requests at the site.
