Lock Poker has left the Revolution Gaming Network. The struggling poker room did not make an advanced announcement of the move. It alerted players to the temporary closure through the software and website. Lock Poker has yet to relaunch as of the time of this article.
Lock Poker will be a standalone site on the new platform. All points, tournament tickets, balances and pending bonuses will be available in the new cashier as soon as it is back online.
The new Lock Poker will offer heads up sit and go rematches, reentry tournaments, timed tournaments and a Mac client. Lock Poker will honor all existing rakeback agreements and continue with its VIP program for other players.
The dealt rake formula has been abandoned with the move. Lock Poker will now use the weighted contributed method. Players will now be attributed rake based on the percentage of the pot they contributed, as opposed to receiving credit for simply being dealt in the hand. This has become the industry standard. One feature absent from the new platform is Seven Card Stud. Revolution Gaming does not offer this game either.
Lock Poker has been unable to meet the demand of player withdrawal requests for over a year. The site earned an F on the monthly U.S. Online Poker Payment Processing Report (Note: This author is also the publisher of the linked article).
This move will settle the debate about what percentage of the Revolution Gaming Network were Lock Poker players. It is too soon to tell how the move has affected Revolution’s traffic and Lock Poker is still offline. PokerScout should be able to give a clear picture of the traffic shift in the coming days.
