Poker enthusiasts from all over the world are anticipating the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023 schedule. WSOP Michigan (MI) is a single network that is interested to join WSOP’s three-state shared liquidity network comprising Delaware, New Jersey, and Nevada. Most poker operators in the country except PokerStars haven’t combined their Michigan pools with those in other states.
WSOP and BetMGM have discrete player pools in Michigan. But there is a high possibility of WSOP MI joining the interstate poker network before the WSOP series starts in the summer.
It will allow Michigan’s online players to compete with those in Nevada and New Jersey. Also, the WSOP MI platform won’t have a different bracelet series. So, WSOP Pennsylvania(PA) will have a separate series until it joins the online poker agreement.
Possible features of the WSOP 2023 Domestic Online Bracelet Series include:
- Several seven-figure prize pool tournaments
- PLO tournaments accessible on the mobile application
- Sundays and weekdays bracelet events
- WSOP PA to have 6-8 online bracelets
- A multi-state network with 14 to 16 bracelets
- One series for Michigan, Nevada, and New Jersey gamblers
The WSOP Online Bracelet Series’ History
Online bracelets increased after New Jersey joined the Delaware and Nevada merged player pool in May 2018. Yet, four online bracelet tournaments took place that year since WSOP officials had released the schedule in December 2017 before the merger occurred.
The number of bracelet events soared in 2018 as more players gained interest in them after New Jersey’s addition to the network. The 2018 bracelet series had a record prize pool and turnout.
Some people are speculating whether WSOP will release the new bracelet schedule hoping Michigan will join its three-state network soon. Even so, it should have more than 13 online bracelets taking place simultaneously with the live poker series. Still, they won’t exceed 16 bracelets even if Michigan joins the network.
More Competition and Large Prize Pools
Generally, the size of prize pools is directly proportional to traffic. The WSOP NJ/NV bracelet series had a $13 million prize pool in 2022 hence earning almost $1 million in each tournament.
The WSOP MI series generated $870,000 in eight tournaments making $108,000 from each event on average. The prize pools and turnout this year might increase by 15 percent. GGPoker provides WSOP online qualifiers to European, Canadian, British, and South American players.
The Gaming Mobile App
WSOP has to align its Nevada and New Jersey software platforms to match that of Michigan. 888poker’s next-generation application powers WSOP MI.
The latest software supports Pot-Limit Omaha, Mystery Bounty, Multi-Flight Tournaments, Progressive Knockouts (PKOs), and other features. But Nevada and New Jersey gaming operators have to give WSOP the green light before it adds new formats.
It doesn’t need approval to provide PLO tournaments to mobile players. Thus, Nevada and New Jersey players can compete in PLO tournaments on their phones if the poker operator grows its liquidity network. Las Vegas will host the WSOP 2023 series between May 30 and July 18.
