Since April 15th of 2011, Full Tilt Poker players in the United States have been beyond patient waiting for funds that should have been reimbursed. The Department of Justice hired the Garden City Group to handle the FTP reimbursement claims a few months ago and players thought that the remission process would begin quickly. After finding out that the process would begin in September, former FTP players began to see the light at the end of a LONG tunnel. However, now reports have surfaced that certain groups of players will NOT be reimbursed.
According to a report by Legaluspokersites.com and TwoPlusTwo postings, certain players may not be receiving the money owed. Rich Muny, a board member of the Poker Players Alliance, took to TwoPlusTwo to post an email he received from the Garden City Group. Muny posts at TwoPlusTwo under the name TheEngineer and in the email players were able to see pertinent information about the remission process.
The email states that players who deposited funds for playing at Full Tilt will have their money reimbursed but players who were with Full tilt in another capacity such as pros, affiliates, vendors and the like will be ‘barred’ from receiving any money back. The Garden City Group has yet to confirm or deny this information.
Muny further stated that the email pointed out that any person or group has claimed funds will be disqualified on the following points:
- An employee of Full Tilt Poker, past or present
- An affiliate of FTP, past or present
- Vendor of FTP, past or present, who has received compensation via a FTP player account
- Shareholder, past or present of FTP, Tiltware LLC, Kolyma Corporation A.V.V., Pocket Kings Ltd, Pocket Kings Consulting Ltd, Filco Ltd, Vantage Ltd, Ranston Ltd, Mail Media Ltd or Full Tilt Poker Ltd.
- An officer or director, past or present, of the above companies
- A defendant in any civil action or a claimant in any forfeiture action brought by the Department of Justice related to the violations alleged in this action, or any related action (or any of his or her affiliates, assigns, heirs, distributees, spouses, parents, children, or controlled entities); and
- A person who, as of the Petition filing deadline, has been the subject of criminal charges related to the violations alleged in this action, or any related action (or any of his or her affiliates, assigns, heirs, distributees, spouses, parents, children, or controlled entities).
Those who fit the above criteria are not happy about the new reports that have surfaced. One would think the information is true because it comes from a valid source, so we will just have to wait and see if the Garden City Group comes forward with an official response.
