Ultimate Poker has remained the first and only real money online poker room in the US as of now and the Nevada site has become a model for future poker sites. According to a recent report by Tight Poker, the site has now announced they have made changes to their VIP program. A representative of Ultimate Poker, Scott Yeates, visited the TwoPlusTwo Forums and announced that Ultimate will be adding the Winner Take All method for their program.
The changes to the VIP program have gained attention from the poker community because the Dealt Method and the Weighted Contributed Method are the more common used to distribute VIP points. Ultimate Poker will be using the Winner Take All approach which is not as commonly used. When the Dealt option is used, players involved in a poker hand will earn the same amount of VIP points. In the Weighted option, players will be rewarded with VIP points based on the amount placed in the poker pot.
With the Winner Take All method, the player who wins the jackpot would be the only player to earn VIP points. This method is not as popular as other VIP point methods at other online poker rooms. Yeates commented further that the VIP program will have ten levels and eight of these levels will be based on monthly play. The last two will be on an annual level.
Players who are located on the bottom level will earn ten VIP points when they win a pot and the house will take one dollar in rake. When players pay $2 in rake for the month they will then move on to the next VIP level. Players will then be given 20 VIP points on the same pot. The new VIP program will be launched at Ultimate Poker once the new software upgrade is released. The software must be approved by the Nevada Gaming Control Board before the option can be placed on the site.
