Poker players in the state of New Jersey have something to look forward to as the New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker is on its way. PokerStars announced the upcoming NJSCOOP schedule this week with 35 events set to take place and over $1.2 million in guaranteed prize money up for grabs.
PokerStarsNJ first launched in March of last year and quickly began working on tournament offerings, including the NJSCOOP. For this year, the tournament series will run from May 6th to the 22nd, and offer a High and Low tournament for each event on the schedule, similar to the SCOOP of PokerStars. During the series, there will be a nice variety fo poker games on the schedule including No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, HORSE, Eight Game, Stud Hi/Lo, Five Card PLO and more.
The Main Event of the NJSCOOP will be a two day affair with a High and Low offering. With the High tournament, players will have to pay a $500 buy-in and will be competing for $200,000 in guaranteed prize money. The Low option will have a much smaller buy-in at $50 and will have a $30,000 guarantee. The main events will both take place on the 21st of May and run through the 22nd.
Included in the mix will be two Sunday Specials with the first taking place on May 7th and the second on May 14th. The first will feature a $300 buy-in and $85,000 in guaranteed prize money. The second will have a buy-in of $350 and will have a slightly smaller guarantee of $65,000.
As always, PokerStars tries to make it easy for players to qualify for the tournaments of the NJSCOOP. Special Spin & Go tournaments will offer up Main Event High seats for an investment of just $4. Take part in the Main Event Freeroll Challenge to try and win seats to the Main Event during weekly freerolls. All satellite and qualifier information as well as a full list of events can be found at the PokerStarsNJ website.
