A punishment beffitting of the crime was handed down in Winipeg courtroom this week when a man arrested for a victemless crime recieved a sentance without consequences.
Neil Faderon a 27 year old student of business in Canada was one of the gamblers busted last May in an illegal gambling sting. He plead guilty to charges involving his presence in an illegal gambling house. As a result of the guilty plea the judge in the case, Rocky Pollack laid down a heavy sentance.
Pollack ruled that Faderon was to stay out of trouble for a year. Faderon who says he has not played poker since his arrest, as a result of the ruling Faderon will recieve no criminal record, he will pay no fine, nor will he be spending any time in jail, so long as he keeps his nose clean, and appearntly refrains from illegal gambling.
If Faderon does get into trouble again in the next 12 months, the discharge of this case can be mentioned in future court cases.
Pollack said in regards to his ruling: “I don’t see where the public interest would demand that I grant you anything but an absolute discharge.”
Faderon said he felt all along that his arrest, from day one was “a waste of time.”
