The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, now an official event of the European Poker Tour (EPT), formerly a World Poker Tour (WPT) event kicks off today as Europe’s largest and most prestigious poker series.
937 professional poker players and amateurs alike battled across the felt in the 2007 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure before Isaac Haxton found himself heads up with the eventual winner, Ryan Daut.
The 2008 $7,800+$200 buy in PCA Tournament kicks off today, January 5th 2008 at 12pm at the Atlantis, located in the Caribbean. The event kicks off with a welcome party for tournament entrants and their families to be held on the 4th, followed by Day 1A of the main event which kicks off on the 5th, the second tournament start day is the sixth, day 1B.
Top Poker talent from all over the world will travel to the Caribbean in effort to grab the second Major Poker Tournament title of 2008, those names we’ve all come to know and respect will be joined by much new talent and a plethora of internet poker players due to the readily available PokerStars satellite tournaments for the event as well as the lower than usual minimum age to enter requirement, anyone above the age of 18 years of age is eligible to play.
One big name will be missing from the event however, JJProdigy also known as Josh Field who was permanently banned from PokerStars online poker room as well as all land based poker events sponsored by Stars. The original ban included only online poker events however, after much talk online, and complaints from several of the rooms other well known poker players the ban was carried over to land based events.
One of the accusations levied against Josh Field (JJProdigy) is multi accounting, or having and using more than one account at PokerStars, JJProdigy previously qualified online to play in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure today.
