The International Stadiums Poker tour is not set to begin until May of 2013 but the tour is already signing poker pros as ambassadors. The tournament is scheduled to be one of a kind, with 30,000 estimated players and a prize pool of €20 million guaranteed. Because the tournament is set to be so large, the ISPT wants to be represented by the best of the best. The ISPT has already announced three poker pro ambassadors and now they may have added yet one more player.
Group Bernard Tapie is the organizer of the event and he has been signing pros for the tour. Michael Mizrachi was signed first and was followed closely by Sam Trickett. Liz Lieu was signed just a few days ago and now the ISPT may have decided to sign Patrik Antonius as well.
International Stadiums Poker Tour posted a release on their tour about Antonius which read: “Always looking for new and exciting experiences, Patrick Antonius was immediately attracted by the concept of ISPT. The Finnish player wore an ISPT logo during the final of the Partouche Poker Tour that takes place in Cannes form September 3rd to September 9th 2012.”
Along with the announcement, the ISPT Twitter page has shown a photograph of Antonius wearing the ISPT logo and he is standing beside Prosper Masquelier, the ISPT Chief Executive and the Co-Creator of the ISPT Production Company. Antonius was also joined by fellow ambassador of the ISPT, Liz Lieu. The Twitter page doesn’t spell out that Antonius is part of the team, so it could be possible that he is simply helping promote.
It would be surprising if Antonius does not participate in the new tour’s first event. The event is set for May 31st, 2013 at Wembley Stadium in London and since Antonius enjoys high stakes games, it would be a long shot for the pro not to be competing.
