An AFC North battle between two top franchises will head our way for Sunday Night Football after being flexed into the time slot.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, whose chances of sneaking into the playoffs increase each week, will be on the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens.
Two rivals going head-to-head will make for rough and physical football, and these two are as fierce of rivals as it comes in the league.
They both have underperformed in more ways than one this season, but somehow they continue to find ways to win games and get to where they need to go in close games.
It’s unclear the status of Lamar Jackson and whether or not he will be healthy enough to play in this game, and if not it will be Tyler Huntley under center.
The Ravens open up as a home favorite in this one by a slight margin at -3.5.
Continuing to pull out the close games
The Steelers have not spent much of the season in the limelight, and their roster leaves little to be desired each week as they take on their opponents.
Somehow, they do just enough to score for their defense. This is a defense that can absolutely change the flow of games with a timely turnover or a couple of sacks.
It really is a classic Steelers team. Kenny Pickett has been just good enough to prove he has a solid foundation, and now all that is left is to develop chemistry and timing with his receivers and his offensive line.
They absolutely have a chance to win this game on the road, despite the difference in record between them and the Ravens.
Will Lamar Jackson be able to return in the regular season?
After assurances that Lamar Jackson would return for their Christmas Eve matchup, the Ravens are now left in a tight spot as he continues to recover.
He very well could find it and suit up for this game, but with the way things are going, it does not seem like his injury has been progressing in a positive direction.
Not that the Ravens’ offense has been much different without him, as they continue to struggle to score points week after week. The pass catchers just have not been living up to their expectations.
If he returns, they’ll have a much better time in this game, but it remains to be seen.
Steelers @ Ravens Betting Prediction
A battle in the AFC North is always going to be just that: a battle. These two teams have no love lost between them, and the Steelers are going to be amped up on the road in a prime-time spot.
There is a little bit of traction behind Pittsburgh, and they will still need some help, but having a chance to make it to the postseason is no joke.
Take Pittsburgh on the road in this one, whether or not Lamar Jackson plays. It will be a low-scoring affair, and the Steelers will thrive in that environment at +3.5.
