NFL byes are starting to take more than a couple of the top teams out of the rotation on each new slate of games.
Two teams going head to head this week don’t play each other often, but we will get a chance to see the Steelers on the road to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
If nothing else, the Steelers have a stout defense per usual, with their team holding their opposition to low point totals.
They almost managed to claw their way all the way back on Sunday Night Football against the Dolphins, but fell just short.
On the other hand, the Eagles are fresh off their bye and ready to continue with their undefeated season. Jalen Hurts and company will be fresh and ready to go.
It has been a season full of surprises, but it comes as no surprise that the Eagles would be favored at home in this game by double digits at -10.5.
What to look forward to if you are a fan of Pittsburgh
While the Steelers haven’t been the most competitive this season, they do have some bright spots on their team as they continue to fight against their opponents.
Their defense is strong and will be even better once T.J. Watt is able to return into the mix, but they have struggled mightily on offense.
Najee Harris has still been nursing injuries here and there and working to try and get himself back into shape but looks a step slow.
That has hurt their offensive game plan and makes it even harder to get to their receivers on the outside. There isn’t a magic solution, but at least they have some pieces in place.
The rolling Philadelphia Eagles
What hasn’t been the best season for the Steelers has been the complete opposite for the Eagles and their fans.
Philadelphia made some big acquisitions in the offseason in order to tighten the screws on a few positions that were hurting, and Jalen Hurts has elevated himself to another level.
The only thing to worry about is that it seems that the team is playing at an all-time peak, so sustainability has to be a concern for the rest of the season.
Either way, the Eagles have every arrow pointing up right now and look like one of the top teams in the entire NFL. Look out for them in the postseason.
Steelers @ Eagles Betting Prediction
Any game where the Eagles are at home and healthy will likely find them favored by a fairly large spread, no matter who their opponent is.
That isn’t to say they are perfect or that they are unbeatable, but it will be hard for any team to keep up with their scoring output on their home field.
There isn’t any reason to bet against the Eagles in a game like this, so trust that Hurts will score early and often to get the job done. Take them at -10.5
