Players have been waiting an extremely long time to receive their funds confiscated by US officials from Full Tilt Poker after Black Friday. Full Tilt has now been back in action for months and players are still waiting on the DOJ to return their funds.
According to a recent report by PokerFuse, the wait continues as poker forums posters are reporting that the wait times could be years from now. Mind you, this is on top of the 2 years players have ALREADY been waiting since Black Friday happened in 2011.
Schlucky1 is a player who frequents the TwoPlusTwo forums and he recently reported that he has tried to contact the Garden City Group, the company the DOJ hired to act as the claims administration.
Schlucky1 stated that he spoke to Lorrie Stall, a representative for the Garden City Group. Stall provided the poster with information in the general sense which suggested that it may take as much as two years before every player has their money back.
Pokerfuse took the information that Schlucky1 reported and contacted the Garden City Group. An e-mail was sent the news source which stated information about the remission process. It read in part:
“Thank you for contacting us about the status of the Full Tilt Poker Claims Administration. We have your registration in our database and will be sure to contact you once the claims submission process begins.
We are working with the Asset Forfeiture Unit of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Section of the United States Department of Justice to review the data in the possession of Full Tilt Poker to determine how claims should be calculated.
It will still take some time before the claims process begins. Please continue to check the settlement administration website (www.FullTiltPokerClaims.com) for important updates.
The file provided by Full Tilt Poker has a lot of transactions, which we are meeting with them to clarify the information so we can move forward and get this process moving.”
The process continues and hopefully will be figured out where players do not have to wait years to gain the money that is rightfully theirs. However, it does not look hopeful for former FTP players.
