The poker totals for the month of November in the state of Nevada are in, with a total of $8,973,000 earned. This is a combined total for online as well as land based poker in the state. Gaming regulators released the information this week, showing a decline of 3.87% when comparing totals from November 2014.
With almost the majority of the poker tables in the state, the Las Vegas Strip was able to earn $5,708,000 of the total poker revenue, which was a decrease of 1.31% for the month. For the entire year of poker in Nevada, the state managed to earn over $117,000,000, a significant amount, but just over 2% less than the same time frame in 2014.
The state saw its ups and downs in 2015, with May, June and July being the big months for poker in Nevada. This is no surprise as this is the time frame that the state hosts the World Series of Poker each year. These three months saw a nice increase in year-over-year gains with June seeing the highest increase of almost 4.5%.
When considering the overall gaming revenues for the state in November, just over $944,000,000 was earned, a solid 7.76% increase when compared year-over-year. When looking at the first eleven months of poker in the state, June was the big earner, raking in $15,840,000 in revenues for poker overall.
2016 has just begun and regulators will be releasing figures as the months go by. Additional states are interested in online poker gaming, which could see Nevada earning more partners in interstate gaming, such as they enjoy with the state of Delaware.
It will be interesting to compare figures as the year beings, if new states join the online gaming market and as the WSOP begins in a few months, surely to offer even more online poker events than the previous years, adding to the total overall poker earnings for the state.
