According to a recent report by PokerListings, poker pro Patrik Antonius is still owed a large amount of cash by several pros who played at Full Tilt Poker. Antonius spoke with PokerListings two years ago an stated that he could lose upwards of $5 million due to the problems at Full Tilt Poker. The pro has now been asked again about the funds owed and he has still yet to be paid.
Antonius is one of the best poker players in the business so it is not surprising he won poker cash at Full Tilt Poker. Once the site was shut down, players were unable to reach their funds to pay the pro what he was due. The payment issue is still an issue some almost two years later as the pro has still yet to be paid, despite the fact that PokerStars purchased Full Tilt just a short time ago.
When asked by PokerListings about the about the money he was owed and if he had been paid back, Antonius had this to say: “no it hasn’t. it hurt me big time because so many people owed me money. Many people who were involved with Full Tilt…they owe me a lot of money. Because they got hurt, I’m not going to see my money for awhile.”
For Antonius sake and for many others, hopefully players will have their Full Tilt monies soon. The Department of Justice recently spoke with CardPlayer and stated that there will be an announcement soon as to when the repayment process will begin, but not date was set. In the past, the DOJ stated that a third party claims administrator would begin working on the remission process for American players beginning in January but January has already come and gone so who knows what will happen.
