If Benny Glaser were to count his blessings with his fingers, he would run out. He would almost run out of his toes, too. This is after winning his 19th COOP title at PokerStars.
It all began in the spring of 2016. This was the first time Glaser won his first Championship of Online Poker (COOP).
The poker pro continued to demonstrate his prowess in mixed games by winning another five titles between 2016 and 2020. This included the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) and the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) wins.
Glaser went ahead to win another 13 titles between 2020 and 2023. The poker pro also goes by RunGodlike, a moniker that is appropriate for him. Glaser won his ninth WCOOP early this year, while his latest WCOOP win is the Medium Badugi with a buy-in of $109.
The player made it to five final tables, taking the second place twice. Benny tweeted his excitement and hoped the WCOOP series would continue successfully for him as it started.
Master of Mixed Games
No-Limit Hold’em is the most popular poker format in online poker. Yet, this is not where Glaser chose to shine. The poker pro is a master of mixed games, some going years back and others that are just being invented.
By playing these less familiar poker formats, Glaser has won 19 titles. Only one of these titles came from playing a two-card game, which actually had a fixed-limit variation. Some of the mixed games Benny has played include HORSE, 8-Game, O8, Deuce, and Razz.
He won two 8-game titles and four HORSE titles. This proves the poker player has a mastery of different poker formats. In addition to being a title holder, Glaser has won almost $500,000.
This amount accounts for the title wins. The player has won much more money for taking second place and other close calls to the title. Before winning his 19th COOP title, Glaser had come close to winning several times this year.
Ideally, the Badugi game was his fifth final table during this year’s WCOOP series. In fact, he won his 16th, 17th, and 18th titles this year during the SCOOP series.
PokerStars’ Team Is Doing Well Too
PokerStars’ team also participates in the COOP events. Representing the team, Parker Talbot won his third WCOOP title on Tuesday after participating in the $10k Super Tuesday.
While Glaser is the reigning champion across WCOOP and SCOOP, Denis is the leading winner this fall. Also going by aDrNalin710, Denis Strebkov won his tenth WCOOP title the same night Glaser won his ninth WCOOP title. This win left Denis with a total of 14 titles across both COOP series.
There is still time to win more WCOOP titles, considering the series just started. The tournament will extend to October 2023, leaving more COOP action to play. Ideally, there are three daily WCOOP events at different buy-in levels, creating hundreds of championships to claim and around $80 million to pocket.
