The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure kicked off on January 6th and will continue until the 14th, offering players the ability to compete in 31 tournament events. The Atlantis Resort of Paradise Island is hosting the series and just recently, the $100,000 Super High Roller event finished up. The event saw 48 players competing, with Cary Katz earning the first-place win.
On the final day of the tournament, Katz returned to the felt with the second lowest chip stack. Only seven players remained so the poker player had much work to do if he wanted to stay in the game. In the end, Katz would be able to build a nice chip lead by taking a few pots from Bryn Kenney, a player who seemed to be gunning for the win, but was eliminated in 3rd by Justin Bonomo.
When heads up play began, it would be Katz and Bonomo competing. Katz had a lead, but was not too much ahead of Bonomo in chip count. However, it would only take seven hands for the winner to be named. On the final hand, Katz held pocket 8s against Bonomo’s A-K with both players all-in. The board fell 9-3-2-Q-J and the 8s of Katz would hold up and secure the win for the player.
Fans of the game can watch events live as PokerStars TV is providing live streaming services. The final table of this event was live streamed and there are still events yet to air. Today, the final table of the $50k High Roller event will be live streamed while tomorrow will see the $10k Main Event Day 2 live streamed.
