When the cards flew into the air today there were about 30 to many poker players seated at the European Poker Tour tables in the Caribbean. 39 to be exact, players that needed to be removed before payday.
Along the way to the money, Hevad Kahn found himself holding pocket kings, dominated by Barry Greenstein’s bullets. A superstitious poker player Matt Zoorob who found him self seated in seat number five, at table number five was dealt pocket fives. Seems there may be some truth to the superstition, he pushed from the small in a coin flip against ace ten. The fives held for lucky seat number five giving the player a total of 340k in tournament chips, and a decent shot at making the money.
One player, Bill Ezzo actually had to go through the brutality of finishing just before the money, twice. Ezzo thought he was all in pretty early in the day, he began to walk away from the poker table, when according to the PokerStars blog a dealer had to call him back as he still had a couple grand in chips left. This late in the game though, a couple grand barely pays rent on a chair. The luck of the draw, 2/4 off in the big. He was all out, again.
Yesterdays chip leader Eric “Rizen” Lynch and PokerStars first ever SuperNova and SuperNova Elite ElkY (Bertrand Grospellier, who eventually removed Khan from the tournament) lost the days chip lead to David “The Dragon” Pham’s silent playing style. Pham became the chip leader with more than 2M in tournament chips by the days end.
Play was set to continue until 40 players remained and finally forty was all there were. “Rizen” was among them, as were Thorson and Butler. The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure begins tomorrow at once again at 12pm EST and will continue until there are eight players remaining, the PokerStars EPT Caribbean Adventure final table.
