PokerStars is celebrating 20 years since it started its business. With this celebration, the poker operator puts its clients at the center by offering them huge prizes dubbed the big 20 anniversary.
Earlier, PokerStars announced the big 20 rewinds featuring 20 matches with over $5.5 million guaranteed money. The matches started on November 14 and ends on December 5.
The last event comes with a $5 million guaranteed prize money, with players entering the event for $55. But, players can qualify for the final event at a much affordable price by playing ongoing satellite matches.
Ongoing Satellite Tournaments at PokerStars
Playing some of the below tournaments increases your chances to play the Big Finale. Here are details about these satellites:
1. Phased Satellites
Pokerstars runs phased satellites every day, while Phase 2 tournaments take place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Winning players will enter the final event for $0.55.
2. Time Machine Promotion
Time machine promotion is returning to PokerStars’ 20th-anniversary celebration. This promo will give participants a chance to win a free ticket to The Big 20 Finale by playing exclusively with a buy-in of $0.50 for Spin & Go games on the poker site.
3. Regular Satellites
Another way to win a seat for The Big 20 Finale is playing regular satellites every day on the poker site. The site offers several structures for these games, including regular, turbo, and hyper-turbo, for a buy-in of $2.20, $5.50, and $11, respectively.
4. Freeroll Tournaments
These tournaments award players free tickets to daily $5.50 Mega satellite. Winners for the daily Mega satellites enter the final event automatically.
5. Road to $5m Tourneys
The poker operator is also running progressive knockout format tournaments. Players can participate in these matches by buying in with $2.20 or $11. Winners will get tickets to the big 20.
6. Pokerstars Women’s Sunday
This event was scheduled for November 28. It focused on allowing more women to play at the upcoming final event. The tournament awarded the top 20 women $1 100 worth of free tickets.
This Is One of the Biggest Tournament by PokerStars
Since PokerStars launched, it has hosted record-setting online festivals. This year, it has not been any different. At the start of this year, PokerStars reminded players where it started by offering one of its first events in 2001.
The New Year’s Bash was going for $11 and attracted 220,000 entries. It is considered one of the best tourneys for attracting one of the biggest player pools during a single event.
Another record PokerStars holds is the 2021 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event Low, which generated over $2 million in the prize pool. The event had a buy-in range of $50. Moreover, the poker operator has always given players the best value, evidenced by 40 half-price Sunday Million tourneys, each awarding $1 million.
While the upcoming event, The Big 20 Finale, is unlikely to get as many entries as the New Year’s Bash, it has a much better-guaranteed prize pool. The operator is likely to earn over $2 million more in the current prize money if it ends up attracting at least half the number the New Year’s Bash did. If it happens, the Big 20 will be the biggest $55 match in poker history.
