Since the announcement of the Amaya Gaming acquisition of the Rational Group, everyone in the industry has been speculating as to when PokerStars and Full Tilt will reenter the United States online gaming market. It was believed the two could possible launch later this year, and according to a recent report at NJPokerOnline, the two may be approved to begin offering their services as soon as October in the state of New Jersey.
It was well-known that Amaya Gaming had asked for the application of PokerStars to be reconsidered and now it seems as though the option to launch in NJ is imminent. According to the report, both PokerStars and Full Tilt will receive approval to launch and have set a tentative launch date for October 1st. The information was provided by an unknown source and has yet to be confirmed by Amaya or the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Amaya Gaming already has a presence in the state of New Jersey with transactional waivers to provide gaming software to the Golden Nugget, Caesars Interactive Entertainment, Trump Plaza and the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Amaya has reportedly been asked to extend the existing waivers instead of using the PokerStars licensing application. The former application was created based on a partnership that previously existed with Resorts in Atlantic City.
For now, it seems that PokerStars and Full Tilt will be back in action in the US before we know it. Full Tilt is already equipped with online casino gaming options and PokerStars of course has a solid online poker product. Players will no doubt be more than ready to see the two gaming sites made available in the US online gaming market. Once an official announcement is made, we shall be able to see just how and exactly when the two sites will be coming back into the market.
