PokerStars To Bring Back Red Spade Open This December

After taking a break in 2016, PokerStars has now decided to bring back the Red Spade Open this December. After debuting in 2011, the $1 million guaranteed tournament was offered every fall until last year. Now, PokerStars has decided to bring back the event with satellites already taking place.

The event is quite popular among PokerStars regulars as it has a $55 buy-in and offers the large $1 million prize pool. Another big incentive to the event is that PokerStars traditionally will offer bounties for Team Pro or Team Online members who have a red spade by their name. Players who knock out these pros earn extra cash for their efforts. It is uncertain as to if the event will offer bounties this year but in the past, the amount per pro knockout had reached $500, an amount that would certainly be welcomed by players this year.

Additional details of the event have yet to be released by the online poker room. The event is set to take place on December 3rd, which will be at the same time that the PokerStars High Roller series will come to an end. The online poker room has been quite busy offering players new tournament gaming along with their traditional offerings.

Players who have a current PokerStars account will find the tournament listed in the Events tab of the online poker client. Since satellites are already running, players can easily try to earn their seat for less than the $55 buy-in. However, the $55 buy-in is still quite affordable so if you miss out on earning a seat via satellite, you can still easily be able to afford to compete.

It will be interesting to see what the Red Spade Open will offer next month when it is back in action after taking a year off. We will certainly stay tuned and report on the outcome once the event is complete!
