Following a three months trial period, PokerStars has rolled out a new rewards system for most of its clients. The new reward system will give players up to 65 percent of all rakeback and tournament fees players might have paid. This will happen through Chests and Monthly Challenges, now available to all players.
The new program has significant changes compared to the previous. In fact, the poker operator had to change several of its policies to match the new reward system. With the program, PokerStars will experience a golden era as it did years ago when it rewarded 70% rakeback to players who reached Supernova Elite VIP level.
One of the improvements made to the reward system is transparency. Now, players will know their targets. Also, a progress bar will tell you how many chests you need to unlock to move to the next higher level.
Monthly Challenges and Chest Rewards
Monthly Challenges existed for specific players. With the new model, all players can participate in the Monthly challenges and get up to 40 percent in rakeback for achieving their customized targets. But, high roller players could get up to 10 percent of this offer.
The Stars Rewards system is still intact with some improvements. For example, players will now get better returns starting from 15 percent to 25 percent, depending on the VIP level.
Before, players could move through levels at their pace with progress calculated on a player-to-player basis. With the new model, all players will move through levels at one rate.
Another thing that changed is randomization. Now, chests values are fixed, starting from $0.50 to $250. With every $1 spent on the poker room, you will get 100 points. This is good news considering players used to get 45 points for every $1 spent on the poker room.
There are six levels of chests at PokerStars, starting with Blue, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Black. Players in the Blue/first level need to rake $3.33 and get 333 points to get 55 percent in rakeback.
They will need five chests to move to the next higher level. Refer to the operator’s main page for details about all Star Rewards systems.
Change in the Operator’s Policy
PokerStars started with a trial period with 20 percent of its clients to test the new reward system. During the period, the poker operator discovered players wanted more rewards, ways to earn rewards and a transparent and straightforward reward system.
According to the Managing Director of Poker at the poker room, the trial period was positively welcomed. Severin Rasset said the brand saw 78 percent in satisfaction from participating players.
All players will enter the new reward system automatically. The system puts PokerStars on a similar radar as GGPoker and PartyPoker, who offer a high rakeback. With the program, PokerStars might reclaim its position as a global leader for having the highest numbers of cash game players.
Today, the brand is competing with GGPoker, its biggest competitor in the world. Although the reward program is open to all players, some geographical areas will not benefit for now. For example, PokerStars Michigan and PokerStars New Jersey are not using the new reward system.
