According to a recent report by online media outlet Pokerfuse, the Poker Players Alliance is meeting with the United States Department of Justice today to discuss the issues surrounding the repayment of US Full Tilt players account balances. The PPA has followed this process closely and offered to assist the DOJ in the process just a few months ago.
John Pappas, the Executive Director of the PPA, will be attending the meeting along with Marc Zwillinger, an online law expert. The two will be representing the PPA during the meeting and Zwillinger should be quite the asset since he is a former member of the DOJ as well as having worked previously for the PPA.
The DOJ has still not announced how they plan on calculating the amount they will be returning to players from their Full Tilt Poker accounts. Players would like to know if any adjustments will be made for bounced checks, uncollected deposits and other issues that caused lost funds during payment processing.
It is expected that player concerns will be discussed during the meeting as well as the conversion of non-monetary items like Iron Man Medals and Full Tilt Points. Also up for discussion should be the timeline for reimbursement as well as the lack of communication from the DOJ so far.
Patrick Fleming, a PPA board member and Litigation Support Director, has stated that the PPA will be representing the player’s interests by making the DOJ aware of the ways they can make the remission process ‘simple and easy for players to complete’.
US players currently have the ability to log on to Full Tilt Poker and request a full transaction history from the poker client. However, there is no guarantee that the balance found will be the balance paid by the DOJ. Hopefully, after the meeting is concluded, more information will come to light for the Full Tilt Poker repayment process.
