Red Star Poker left the Revolution Gaming Network on Tuesday, according to Poker Affiliate Solutions. Red Star Poker is now a member of the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN).
Red Star Poker uses its own cashier. All player balances were moved to the new software that can now be downloaded directly from Red Star Poker’s website.
The rakeback rules have changed. Revolution Gaming uses the dealt method and allows skins to pay 36% rakeback to players. MPN caps rakeback at 30% and uses the weighted contributed method.
Gold Chips and Gold Cards that were earned on the Revolution Gaming Network will not transfer over to Microgaming. These promotions have ended.
Red Star Poker did not accept new U.S. players when it left Revolution Gaming, but it did have legacy Americans. These players will now be unable to play at Red Star Poker since it has moved to MPN.
Red Star Poker was once a standalone site that catered to Russian players. It moved to the Cake Poker Network, which eventually became Revolution Gaming, in 2006.
The Revolution Gaming Network has some well documented issues. These include slow payouts to players from Cake Poker, Juicy Stakes and Lock Poker. Some skins have openly complained about not receiving reconciliation payments from the network in a timely manner.
