On December 21st, an armed robbery took place at the Bob-Hi Lanes, which is located in Norton Shores, Michigan. A poker event was taking place at the facility when a group of men entered the building and demanded cash. The men got away but now two arrests have been made in the case.
The White Cloud Lions Club was hosting a poker event when the men entered, with at least one of the men armed. The members of the club were robbed on the spot and the men then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police arrived on the scene at around 1:20am on December 21st and were told that the two masked men had escaped.
Norton Shores police have now arrested an 18 year old male in connection with the case, and this is the second arrest to take place. Warrants for arrest were issued last Thursday and Lt. Jon Gale stated that the man should be arraigned by January 2nd. It will be at this time that his name will be released.
Authorities had previously questioned a person of interest in the case and Gale stated the person was ruled out as a suspect but was placed in jail under a different instance. The first arrest was Donald Edward Kroll, age 17, of Muskegon Heights. Kroll was arraigned on December 21st and was charged with one count of armed robbery. The bond was set at $125,000 and a preliminary examination of the case is set for January 3rd at 10am.
This is just one of many instances of a poker event gone badly. It makes one wonder if the robbers knew the poker game was taking place or if they simply stumbled upon the players and was able to get more cash than expected. As more details are released in this case, we will be able to learn more about the incident.
