It was recently announced that gaming equipment supplier Shuffle Master is one step closer to earning an online gaming license in the state of Nevada. The state Gaming Control Board gave the company preliminary approval for a license just yesterday to be able to provide as well as manufacture interactive gaming systems.
Shuffle Master must now be approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission and if they are approved the company would become the third company to be licensed to offer online gaming in the state of Nevada. Bally Technologies and International Game Technology were the first to be approved for the licensing.
Louis Castle is the Chief Strategy Officer of Shuffle Master and he spoke with the control board stating that the company has been considering their options to provide companies that are licensed to be able to offer an intrastate online casino in the state. they would offer a business-to-business online product for those they work with.
Shuffle Master is planning starting out by offering table gaming options on a free-to-play social gaming website and then convert people to real money gambling. Castle stated: “Social gaming exposes the games to the consumer. From there we want to drive those free-play customers into for-pay customers.”
If Shuffle Master is approved, they will have to offer the technology to operate a system that has been approved by independent testing laboratories. The Gaming Control Board has set up this testing to make sure that all companies will comply.
Mark Lipparelli the chairman of the control board commented that he is comfortable with Shuffle Master as they are a long-standing licensee as well as a known entity. It will be interesting to see if Shuffle Master will be the next company to earn a license in the state of Nevada.
