Lock Poker has been struggling for some time now with several issues, mainly regarding cash withdrawals. Players have been waiting decades it seems to be able to withdraw cash out from the site. Now it has come to light that the online poker site no longer has sponsored pros. Is this the site’s decision or did the remaining pros decide to get out while they could?
Last year, Michael Mizrachi, Chris Moorman and Paul Volpe left the site as sponsored pros and now the site is completely void of any sponsored pro. According to a report by Pokerfuse, Bryan Pellegrino left the site based on a recent TwoPlusTwo forum post. Pellegrino stated that he was no longer with Lock on January 11th and asked the company to remove his photo from the poker site.
Pellegrino stated that he was not fired but never said why he was no longer with Lock. This is why there are questions as to why pros are leaving Lock, though most believe it is due to the cashout issues. Players who speak with customer service at Lock are told that it will take six to eight weeks for the cash to be withdrawn. However, members of Lock are reporting that the cashout process takes much longer.
A report from January 12th on TwoPlusTwo stated that around 306 players have requested a withdrawal and more than $822,000 would need to be paid by Lock. Within this group of players, the average time frame to receive the funds is 230 days while some have been waiting for more than one year to receive payment.
With the pros gone, is this a sign that Lock is about to shut down completely? Are they overhauling the site and preparing for major updates or changes? Who knows and Lock is not very forthcoming with information so only time will tell as what the status of Lock will be.
