Action at the Table
Joel Smith, Troy Demann, and Nels Peterson reached the final table. Justin Moore started action using a pair of aces to make a big double shove, and Adam Sabatka used a lower kicker to call.
Jose Waybright and Dan Stanley were the first teams to get busted. Stanley went all in and used king-jack to find callers. Nels Peterson knocked him out after his pair of eights got a straight and the pot.
Team Milt Berg and Troy Demann left the table in eighth place after several minutes when Uzi used queen-jack to knock out their King-deuce. Roger Baker and Andy Holt followed them in seventh place after Willmert’s Big Slick beat their ace-jack.
Michelle Bain and Adam Sabatka finished sixth after Sabatka’s stack reduced drastically, prompting him to use king-four to commit. Uzi held Big Slick, waiting to bust him, thus leaving five teams at the table.
Gordo Makely and Moore used pocket eights to extend their run. Unfortunately, Smith used a pair of pocket aces to eliminate them in fifth place. He got a significant chip lead in that hand which he later lost to Peterson in a big double after his nine-eight failed to improve and lost to his opponent’s pocket queens.
Smith exited the tournament in the fourth position after Willmert’s turned straight beat his pair of queens in a flop.
The three remaining teams fought fiercely until Terry Jaglarski’s suited queen-jack beat Willmert’s king-six in heads-up action and eliminated him. The two teams were evenly matched before Schreiner and Peterson got an early stack lead. Besides, Jaglarski and Uzi used ace-queen to double a big lead and beat Peterson’s suited king-ten.
Odds changed when Peterson used king-jack to shove, and Uzi closed the deal with pocket kings. Poker enthusiasts can get live updates of the Downtown Las Vegas FPN Chasin’ Bracelets National Championship.
