The game of poker has several players that really made history, and one of them is Doyle Brunson, who is now considered a true legend. However, it seems that Brunson still keeps the inner flame burning. He showed up on Monder in a WSOP event called $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship.
However, his presence on the tournament is not as important as what other poker fans want to hear him say, and Brunson was really eager to share his thoughts with the press. The legend, who had an amazing poker career, really had some inspiring thoughts.

The 84-year-old poker player said that he could not play this tournament for long hours. The reason he signed up for it is because it allowed registration until the beginning of the second day. This fact made it a little easier for Brunson to once again play a game. The main problem for not being able to play long is related to his family. In fact, Brunson said that his wife was not feeling well and that he had to go back to her as soon as possible.
Another reason why he showed up specifically for this championship is his love of deuce to seven. This was a perfect opportunity for him to once again enjoy the game with some of the current great poker players.
But Brunson is a far cry from actually retiring completely. He regularly expresses his love of poker by playing the Big Game at Bellagio, still keeping the stakes high. In fact, he plays poker every day and stated that Bellagio kept a seat locked for him and that he was still winning and playing every day from 1pm to 8 or 9pm. He expressed his amazement with the number of high limit players that actually participate in this championship.
The Brunsons and The Poker
Doyle Brunson is not the only one in his family that plays poker. In fact, he influenced his son Todd Brunson who started playing poker and even won one WSOP bracelet himself. Todd currently has more than $4.3 million when it comes to the winnings in tournaments.
Moreover, the daughter of Doyle Brunson, Pamela also occasionally plays poker and she made a nice sum of $89,000 in earnings.
Doyle stated that he was not really a fan of his children playing poker. In fact, he was not aware that Todd knew how to play poker until he was the third year of college. At that point, he left the college and completely devoted his life to poker, much like his father. Although his parents did not accept well his decision, he went on to win a couple of tournaments which won him an approval.
Although this may be the last tournament of this type for Doyle, he will still actively play poker at Bellagio. Apart from the 10 bracelets, what really makes him a legend at this game is the 62 years of professional play. He started with 22 and has been into professional poker ever since.
