The 2023 PokerGO Tour(PGT) Mixed Games $10,300 buy-in eight-game mix event lasted longer than PGT had scheduled initially. It attracted 88 entrants, and John Monnette beat all his opponents taking home the $211,200 top prize.
The four-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet champion has over $3.6 million in poker tournament earnings. Yet, he spends a lot of time playing cash games.
The poker pro entered the tournament on February 5. He faced Albert Daher in a heads-up match that they decided to pause to compete in Event No. 3:$10,300 Triple Stud Mixed event.
Monnette reached the final table and further delayed his clash with Daher to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. He won $60,000 after finishing fourth in the event and later resumed playing in Event No.2. His two large scores earned him 271 PGT ranking points that helped him top the PGT race and is 10th on the leaderboard.
The eight-game mix tournament comprised games such as no-limit hold ’em, stud, pot-limit Omaha, razz, Omaha eight-or-better, stud hi-lo, limit deuce-to-seven triple draw, and limit hold’em. ARIA Resort & Casino hosted it at the PokerGO Studio.

What Happened on the Final Day?
Michael Noori ended Day 1’s action after getting busted in the eighth position with $35,200. Brian Rast was the stack leader early on Day 2 and Daher was second in the chip standings. But, the latter got the chip lead and increased it after eliminating Chris Vitch in the seventh position.
Daher’s king low defeated Vitch’s pair in a triple draw hand. Mike Thorpe followed Vitch in sixth place after his 8-5 suited lost to Rast’s A-4 in the no-limit hold’em. Still, Damjan Radanov used the second nut low to face Daher’s pair of queens in an Omaha eight-or-better hand.
The river and turn didn’t help Radanov hence sending him home in fifth place. Monnette won a hand in that round as Rast collected some chips in a pot-limit Omaha hand.
Craig Chait made an all-in preflop using an ace kicker and flopped fives and jacks. Rast made that hand, and both players held live side cards. The player ended Chait’s run in fourth place after making eights and jacks.
Rast got busted in third place despite winning the huge hand. He played a big PLO pot with Daher.
The latter checked as they made a 10Diamond Suit6Spade Suit2Diamond Suit flop. Rast wagered 325,000 chips while Daher made a 1,725,000 check raise. The latter went all-in for 3,700,000, and the former used KHeart SuitKDiamond Suit5Heart Suit5Diamond Suit to call for a flush draw and an overpair.
Rast had a ASpade Suit10Heart Suit9Spade Suit6Heart Suit for the backdoor spade and top two pair. Still, the JDiamond Suit on the turn finished Daher’s flush as the 7Heart Suit gave him the chip lead. Rast’s run ended in third place and he has $23.2 million in poker career earnings.
Daher got a 4.5:1 chip advantage over Monnette. But the latter got the lead after one and a half hours of play. The action continued on February 8 as Daher used 9-6 to defeat Monnette’s queen low to win a triple draw deuce-to-seven lowball pot.
Monnette regained the stack lead and extended it to almost 10:1. They used AClub Suit8Spade Suit7Club Suit5Club Suit to make a button raise in PLO and Daher used QHeart Suit10Heart Suit10Club Suit8Diamond Suit to make a 1,200,000 all-in three-bet.
Monnette called before the board ran out QSpade Suit6Heart Suit3Club Suit2Spade Suit4Spade Suit hence getting the title and pot.
Daher finished second with $149,600. The Hendon Mob shows that he has over $3.7 million in recorded poker cashes.
