In 2013, the state of Nevada saw two online poker sites go live: Ultimate Poker and WSOP. Both sites have done relatively well and provide real money online poker play to anyone physically located in the state. Now a third site has launched in the state, titled Real Gaming, and will give players another option for online poker gaming.
Real Gaming is the product of South Point Poker, who received a license in 2012. South Point Poker was the product of the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa of Las Vegas. It was in 2013 that the company decided on rebranding and switched the poker offering to Real Gaming.
The online poker site is now available for real money game play but only in soft launch form. The company must first test their product to make sure there are no kinks or changes to be made. The Real Gaming site will be a change of pace for the state as it has different features and aspects from both WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker.
Real Gaming does not have to downloaded as it works directly in a major browser. Player location is detected through a mobile application and players must take certain steps to be verified. The app is compatible with iPhone and Android, and once downloaded, the player will have to log in to the Real Gaming website.
A game will need to be chosen from the lobby and players will then receive a text that has a link attached. The link will then take the player through location verification and once verified, the app will say Get My Token, which allows players to click on the phrase and then begin playing the game chosen. All of this must be done after a player signs up at Real Gaming and has verified their account.
Since the site is in the soft phase, gaming is limited. Real Gaming currently has only No Limit Texas Hold’em and offers the game in seven cash limits. Buy-ins range from $0.01/$0.02 to $5/$10.
