Three New Jersey Online Gambling Partnerships Announced

New Jersey flagThree major partnerships were announced in the New Jersey regulated online gambling industry today.  Applicants had until June 30th to file their partnership announcements.  The next deadline is July 29, 2013.  That is when potential licensees must file their applications to the State.

Resorts Partners with PokerStars

In the biggest surprise of the day, PokerStars and Resorts International announced that they will join forces in New Jersey’s online gambling market.  PokerStars had recently attempted to acquire the Atlantic Club.  This deal fell through when PokerStars and its parent company Rational Group missed the April 2013 acquisition deadline.

PokerStars and Rational Group eventually lost two court rulings on the deal which appears to now be dead.  This is not a sales agreement between the two companies.  The Resorts deal simply names PokerStars as it software provider.

Trump Plaza Partners with Betfair

Trump Plaza and Betfair announced that the two companies would partner in New Jersey.  Trump Plaza, which is owned by Trump Entertainment, did not use the same online gaming service provider that their sister property Trump Taj Mahal used.  The Trump Taj Mahal chose to go with Ultimate Gaming, which is the same company that operates the only regulated online poker room in Nevada.

Betfair is a betting exchange company that also operates online casino software through GameAccount and poker through Ongame.  The company also owns TVG, which is an online horse betting company in the United States.  TVG is licensed in New Jersey to operate exchange wagering on horses.

Tropicana Partners with Gamesys

Tropicana Atlantic City has partnered with Gamesys.  Tropicana Atlantic City is not related to the Tropicana in Las Vegas, but is the sister property of the Tropicana in Laughlin, NV.  Neither Tropicana brand has applied for an interactive gaming license in Nevada.  Gamesys is the company behind the first real money casino games on Facebook.  These games are only available to UK residents.NJ

Ten of the twelve Atlantic City casinos have announced their online gambling partnerships, including the three agreements announced today.  Caesars Entertainment, which owns four properties in Atlantic City, has partnered with 888 through its subsidiary Caesars Entertainment.  Borgata has partnered with bwin.party, Golden Nugget partnered with Bally Technologies and Trump Taj Mahal partnered with Ultimate Gaming.

Atlantic Club and Revel are the only two Atlantic City resorts that have yet to announce what software company they will partner with in the New Jersey regulated online gambling market.  Neither company appears to own proprietary software.
