Many poker diehards worldwide wondered how the World Poker Tour (WPT) would avoid overlaying when it announced a $15 million guaranteed WPT World Championship at Wynn Resorts, Las Vegas. But, some of them are discussing the size of its prize pool as ClubWPT sends over 50 players to the tournament.
Many players have won seats into the championship in recent weeks. Wynn has run several qualifiers in its poker room, and the ClubWPT online site will send other players to the tournament.
The latest reports state that ClubWPT granted 27 players a $12,000 WPT World Championship package. Yet, 22 players had won the WPT Prime Championship ticket while seven others got a special events package.
Adam Pliska, the WPT CEO, stated that ClubWPT has consistently engaged players from different backgrounds in poker since its 2008 launch. Their packages often include prestigious prizes that ClubWPT awards and they are glad to host qualifiers in their 20th-anniversary celebration.
A large number of ClubWPT players will compete with the world’s best poker diehards in the $10,400 main event. They include Bruce Ramoth, Mark Symons (ClubWPT Player of the Year), Tim Robins, and Charles Ralston.
Robins was born in Reno and grew up in Kansas. But, he later relocated to Nebraska and will be ClubWPT’s 18th player to win a seat.

Robins stated that he got tired of playing for money chips on a certain site and began seeing ClubWPT commercials that prompted him to sign up. He took part in them for a year and upgraded to the Diamond membership.
The player knew that he would soon start winning huge events, and his dream came true after beating 400 opponents. His determination increased when the event was halfway, and he added 3.5 million to his 500,000 when he got in a heads-up battle.
Robins will make his first official Las Vegas trip. He remembered his mother informing him that he was in the city at the age of nine months. The poker pro has played poker for a while, even though this will be his largest tournament to take part in.
He played a wide array of games as a teenager, including pitch, pinochle, and five-card draw. His interest in hold’em began when he was in high school.
Robins got a baseball scholarship in college and spent more time playing poker while nursing a rotator cuff injury. He has been working at Kelly Supply Company as a logistics expert in its distribution center for eight years, and poker paid his bills for a while.
He stated that hoped to secure a job in Lincoln when he relocated. Yet, things didn’t work out, and he played bar poker for several weeks to fuel his car and buy food. Winners got $50 to $100, and he fared well as he won two sessions in one night.
Robins has played in casinos on several occasions. He revealed that his last session was at a $1-$3 table last week, in which he made a $300 buy-in and won more than $500.
Surprisingly, this was his first time playing live poker in a year. It took place at the same table, and he bagged over $1,200.
