Tom ‘durrr’ Dwan is known for creating poker challenges with poker pros. One such challenge took place a few years ago and featured Dwan and Daniel Cates. Poker News has now reported that Cates and Dwan are discussing continuing their poker challenge. The pros recently took to Twitter to discuss the poker challenge.
Cates sent Dwan a message on Twitter which stated:
@TomDwan, would you like to continue our challenge instead of playing everybody else at every game on @FullTiltPoker?
Dwan responded the very next day with a Tweet which read:
“Hey @junglemandan, sure. Also care to pay me our figure finally since I guess now we’re tweeting dick things we could text.?”
The tweets immediately continued with Dwan responding:
“@TomDwan depends on what exactly you mean by this. Talk to you private about it.”
Cates then stated:
“@TomDwan debatable you owe me tbh, but rather not take this online unless you want more of our business aired.”
It seems as though the challenge will take place. The $1 million Durrrr Challenge was issued in early 2009 and the offer was given to anyone who wanted to play the pro in heads up play with 50,000 hands up for competing at No limit hold’em and Pot limit Omaha tables with $200/$400.
Cates took on the challenge and the two have not been able to play any hands since Full Tilt shut down. When the shut down took place, Cates was in the lead with $1,251,059 when almost 20,000 hands had been played. Cates eventually stated that the challenge should begin again.
According to Poker News, Cates was interviewed by HighStakesDB this past week and he stated that the challenge will continue when the two have enough money available online. Cates stated he will be placing more money in his account and hopes that the challenge will begin again in a few weeks.
