In 2015, Poker Central was launched, a unique poker channel in which players and fans can watch tournaments and events. The channel is dedicated to offering poker shows on a 24/7 basis with an audience spanning across the globe. The channel recently featured a new poker series titled the Super High Roller. The event was a success with top poker pro Vanessa Selbst earning the first place win and a $1 million cash prize.
The Celebrity Shootout event saw players split into two pools. The first half would consist of celebrities Hank Azaria, Norm McDonald, Brad Garrett, Don Cheadle and Kevin Pollack. It would be Kevin Pollak who advanced to the heads-up final after defeating his fellow competitors in this portion of the event.
In the other group, Selbst would defeat fellow pros to move on to the final round. On this side, competitors would consist of Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari and Doyle Brunson. Selbst would take on Pollack for a winner take all in the final round.
During game play, Selbst would make moves and play a number of hands, with every player seeming to have trouble keeping up with her game play style. It would not take long for the pro to take down Pollack in the best of three final round after she won two rounds in a row. The win gave Selbst her third career score of a seven figure cash prize and boosting her tournament winnings to well over $11.6 million.
The next poker series to enjoy is the Super High Roller Bowl which will have a buy-in of $500,000 and have $7 million going to the winner. This tournament already has pros confirmed to compete including Dan Smith, Erik Seidel, Jason Mercier, Ole Schemion and Daniel Negreanu. Poker Central will air this event as well as many more to come in the near future.
