King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic started hosting an important European poker event called World Poker Tour Germany. The poker action has already started, and one event even wrapped up with Ricardas Vymeris winning the first prize. Vymeris won the €550 WPT Opener for €79,000. He did not have an easy job, though, as he had to go through the field of 1,158 players.
The guaranteed prize for the opener event was €500,000, and the best twenty players also received another prize apart from the monetary one. Namely, these 20 players won an entry to €3,300 WPT Germany Main Event.
The final four saw Vymeris being in third place when it comes to the number of chips. Henry Kilbane had an outstanding run and was leading in chips since the start of the last day. Yet it was Kilbane who was knocked out in the fourth position and left the three players to play for the heads-up.
The entire field narrowed down to 24 players only who returned on the final day to test their skills and luck and try to win the opener event. At that point, Kilbane was the ultimate chip leader, being the only one who had more than three million in chips. Moreover, he managed to double that number at the time he reached the final table. The Final Table — Who Else Earned Big Money?
The good thing about the final table is that all nine players secured their €3,300 ticket fro the World Poker Tour Germany Main Event. With that in mind, Damian Siewert from Poland was eliminated by Vymeris, ending up ninth for €6,000.
The next player to hit the rail was a Serbian named Slobodan Lekic, who ended up with a total of €7,200 in his pocket. Erns Huber from Germany was the next one to lose all chips, but at least he received €9,000 as his prize.
Milan Simko was playing in his home court as King’s Resort is located in the Czech Republic. He ended up sixth for €12,000. Another German player called Dominik Nissen ended up fifth and earned a total of €17,000 for his effort, leaving four more players to battle for the biggest prize.
The next player in line was Henry Kilbane from the United Kingdom. Although he was a chip leader during the entire day, he did not manage to make it to the final three, earning €24,000 as the fourth-placed player. Joeri Moerman from the Netherlands soon followed after that, earning €33,000 and leaving Ashot Oganesian from Russia to face Ricardas Vymeris in the heads-up play.
In the end, Oganesian had to settle for second place and a total sum of €45,250, leaving the Lithuanian to celebrate his victory in the first WPT Germany event this year.
