While reading the daily online poker news, I came across an article at PokerListings that was just too interesting not to share. The poker news site had come across a special poker project by Terry Beveridge, an artist who specializes in painting and 3D animation. The article pointed out the works of Beveridge, one category in particular: Poker.
The artist has created a painting series title Art of Poker and has shared his work at online social networks as well as his personal website. The new series features four paintings and PokersListings came across the series when checking out Twitter. Beveridge posted two pictures from his poker series, one of Daniel Negreanu and one of Gus Hanson, both of which are about to compete in a special challenge at Full Tilt Poker.
Fans of both art and poker are sure to enjoy the special series of paintings. On his website, Beveridge stated that he started the new painting series because he loves the game of poker. The artist decided to use a skewed drawing technique for this series which he is calling a ‘bit warped’ and then the painting technique is a realistic style.
So far, Beveridge has painted portraits of Doyle Brunson, Gus Hansen and Daniel Negreanu. Each player painting is skewed in its own way. Beveridge chose these poker players because he enjoys their game play, admires their skills and just believes the players are great for the game.
The paintings can be checked out here, and I must say, my personal favorite is the Gus Hansen portrait. This painting has a very odd look but still captures Hansen in all his glory, almost a creepy stare. Check out the paintings at Beveridge’s website and the artist says that more paintings are to come. Many thanks to PokerListings to posting this interesting poker artwork!
