Kang-Hyuk Choi was arraigned on charges involving the murder of three victims and their robbery among other lessor charges last Wednesday the 21st. He walked into the court room with headphones on, and a small device similar looking to an mp3 player in his left hand used for communication between himself and his translator.
Choir’s right arm was covered by a bandage that hid his fingertips and nearly went up to his elbow.
Choir’s lawyer, Francis Meehan, a public defender entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. The judge, New Jersey Superior Court Judge Harry Carroll, ordered that Choi be held in jail, without bail.
Newsday reports say that Choi ‘listened intently’ while the prosecutor, Wayne Mello described the three murders to the court in detail. Mello explained how the murder removed a knife from one of the victims and then washed the blood from it.
Police involved in the case claim Choi took thirty thousand dollars and a car from the murder scene. Choi was arrested two weeks after the brutal murders at Commerce Casino in California when he got up from a poker game to use the restroom.
