The poker world is currently about the World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship. However, many other poker tours led to the last one in Seminole.
This year will be one of the best for the poker room. The WPT started the year with new ownership, ambassadors, and rebranding. The WPT website got a makeover, WPTDeepStacks rebranded to WPT Prime, and many other things happened to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
There were many WPT festivals in the USA and globally. Meanwhile, WPT Prime traveled mostly outside the country.
A Recall of the WPT Main Events
Tournaments are the core of the World Poker Tour. Here are some of the primary events that happened during the 20th season.
1. WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open
The buy-in for the event was $3,500. It attracted 1,982 entries, leading to a prize pool of over $6 million exceeding the $2 million GTD. Alexander Yen won the tournament pocketing $977,240.
2. WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown
Going for $3.500 per entry, the event attracted over 2,000 entries, generating over a $6 million prize pool. Mark Davis took the win, pocketing over $ 1 million.
3. WPT Venetian

Chance Kornuth won the event with 787 entries. The prize pool was over $2.7M, generated by a buy-in of $3,800.
5. WPT Legends of Poker
With 642 entries, the poker room generated a prize pool of $3,113,700, almost half more than the $2.5M GTD. The buy-in was $5,250. Joshua Pollock won $573,350.
6. WPT Seminole Hard Rock Tampa
Corey Wade won the tourney after buying into this game for $3,500, pocketing over $471,000. The event attracted 1,165 entries, generating a prize pool of over $3.7M.

This was another high-roller event that attracted 569 entries that generated a $5,519,300 prize pool. The event went for $10,400, with Chad Eveslage winning $1,042,300.
WPT Seminole in Florida
The last stop for the poker operator was in Hollywood, Florida, at Seminole Hard Rock. The tour was dubbed Rock `N` Roll Poker Open. It was one of the biggest events, as it attracted 1,541 entries.
The GTD was $2 million. However, with high attendance, the prize jumped to $4,920,800.
WPT Seminole Main Event happened between November 25 and 30. The buy-in was $3,500.
The first-place winner won $785,800, while the 193rd person won $5,600.
Out of $1541 entrants, only 513 survived for Day 2 tournament. Unfortunately, over 250 players exited disappointed because they did not win anything. Fortunately, 193 pocketed at least more than their buy-in.
Day 3 started with 80 players, including some popular players. Unfortunately, only 16 proceeded to Day 4, with Andrew Wilson having the most chips.
Joshua Kay took over Andrew`s leading position for a while before Wilson took back his seat after busting out Steve Karp in the tenth position, Ted McNamara at 9th, Ryan Dougherty at 8th, and Eric Bonin at 7th.
Six players remained for the final table, each looking forward to winning the championship and at least $167,000. For instance, Brian Altman wanted to win his fourth WPT championship, while Eveslage wanted another just a month after winning the WPT Five Diamond. However, the win went to Wilson.
It was his first WPT championship after years of playing poker. Moreover, he won his largest live tournament cash, leading him to describe the moment as surreal.
