The World Poker Tour (WPT) is hosting the world championship at the end of this year at the Wynn, Las Vegas. Going by the previous World Championship and other events run by WPT, this is one of the most exciting live poker events.
The buy-in for the event is usually high. For instance, this year’s World Championship buy-in is $10,400. Most players would prefer not to spend this much for the event.
Fortunately, WPT is giving players every opportunity to participate in the event without spending the whole buy-in. Through WPT Global, players can win a seat at the Main Event for as low as $5.
The poker room is running satellites and qualifiers daily. This campaign started on August 6, 2023.
The 2022 WPT World Championship topped all expectations. For instance, the event had a guaranteed prize pool of $15,000,000. However, the tournament generated almost $30 million following more buy-ins.
Direct Qualifiers Every Sunday and Daily Satellites
There are two ways to win a seat at the WPT World Championship. Players with bigger budgets can participate in Direct Qualifiers. This promotion started on Sunday, August, 2023.
Players can spend $220 or $1060 to participate in these qualifiers. Winners will get a package of $12,400. This amount should cover the World Championship Main Event buy-in while the remaining $2000 will go to player’s spending.
For players that cannot afford the direct qualifier buy-in, they can participate in daily satellites. Some of these games have low buy-in of $5. Winning these satellites give players a seat at Sunday Qualifiers.
So, whether you want to start small and move up, WPT Global is doing everything to give you a seat at the main event. The best part is that you can win more than one package.
Unfortunately, winning more packages will not lead to redemption for real money. Instead, you can give other players the package.
Usually, these events restrict one package win per player. By allowing players to win more than one package, WPT hopes to drive more players to the Main Event when players share their extra won packages.
Qualifying players can choose which flight to play. These include Flight A scheduled for December 12 and Flight B, scheduled for December 13.
Poker Season in Winter
There are several events scheduled for this winter. Considering American players travel to these events, it is worth mentioning here. So, for players looking for other events outside Las Vegas, there are more poker action in winter.
This includes WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas. World Series of Poker (WSOP) in partnership with GGPoker is planning to give 15 bracelet events in December. GGPoker has pledged to take at least 1000 players, including American, to the event.
PokerStars LIVE is also hosting the European Poker Tour in Prague. This event brings poker action closer to Europeans. However, U.S. residents love to attend the event too.
